Entry into the forest in the Limi Valley area of Namkha rural municipality-6 of Humla has been banned. Ward chairman Paljor Tamang informed that the collection of herbs and animal grazing has been banned for 3 years.
He said that this decision was taken for the protection and management of the natural resources, herbs and plants of the forest area within the ward. He says that the ward is trying to stop this activity as people from outside the ward come and collect herbs randomly and grazing animals in the forest.
In the forest, sheep, goats, chaunri and other animals have been stopped for grazing. He said, 'Forest areas, places where herbs are produced and for grazing in protected areas have been completely banned for everyone except the wards. From June 28th, there is a ban on collecting herbs, picking, digging or taking them for commercial purposes.''
