Maoists speaking in the House of Representatives, RASWP and RPPA parliamentarians step by step

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has started the House of Representatives meeting on Friday amidst the obstruction of opposition parties RSWP and RPP. Although there was an agreement between the ruling party and the main opposition party, the Maoists, to investigate the visit visa issue and open the obstruction of the House of Representatives, the RSVP and RPP have continued their opposition.

RPPA and RASWP MPs are repeatedly playing the table. Speaker Ghimire said that all the parties will be given time to speak one after the other, but the MPs of RSWP and RPP continued to obstruct. While the Maoist chief whip Hitraj Pandey was speaking, the MPs of the two parties continued to protest.

UML chief whip Mahesh Bertaula and Maoist chief whip Hitraj Pandey agreed to end the obstruction of the House of Representatives and start the meeting on Friday afternoon. But RSVP and RPP have continued to obstruct the House. In the

agreement, it is mentioned that the government will cooperate with the investigation of the visit visa case between the ruling party and the Maoists as the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority is investigating. It is also mentioned in the agreement that the Government of Nepal will express its commitment to make appropriate arrangements for policy, legal and structural reforms by conducting necessary studies and investigations to solve the problems seen in the past regarding immigration and visit visas.

Earlier in this case, the opposition party, which stood united in demanding that Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar should resign and form an inquiry committee, has been standing in two divisions since Friday. RSVP and RPP have maintained their position that the Home Minister should resign.
