Partnership and connectivity are the basis of Nepal-India common prosperity: Foreign Minister Rana

Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has said that common prosperity will be achieved in both countries only through joint partnership and connectivity between Nepal and India in various fields. Inaugurating a program on Nepal-India strategic dialogue held in Kathmandu today, Minister Rana emphasized on the need to advance economic partnership through connectivity by intensifying cooperation in trade, transportation and investment between Nepal and India.

Referring to the fact that the time has come to transform the communication network between Nepal and India into prosperity through various platforms, she said, 'I am waiting for such a future where the ginger of a Nepali farmer reaches the market in Mumbai in 24 hours and an Indian tourist reaches Pokhara on an evening flight after a morning meeting in Delhi. Let it be such a closeness that it becomes the basis of the economic prosperity of the citizens of the two countries.'

Referring to the events that Nepal-India relations are built on the foundations laid at the beginning of civilization, Minister Rana said that since the lives of our citizens are based on common values, culture and feelings, public relations, cooperation and connectivity between them will help to draw a line for the prosperous future of both countries. 

Nepal and India should invest in roads, railways, waterways, air routes, digital infrastructure and increase mutual communication networks. Minister Rana said that the global economic scenario is currently focusing on knowledge-based economy, services and digital platforms, and emphasized that in the days to come, the two countries should also focus their efforts in the areas of digital economy, technology and innovation, modern education, skill development and creative economy.
