A corruption case has been filed against 7 people including Director General of Information and Broadcasting Department Pradeep Pariyar. The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a case in a special court on Wednesday on the charge of collusion of corruption when he was the then chief administrative officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality.

Along with Pariyar, the authority has filed a case against the then directors of the metropolis, Rabindraman Shrestha, Yuvraj Adhikari, Vasant Acharya, Namraj Dhakal, Assistant Director Uttam Dahal and Engineer Janardhan Giri. All the seven defendants have been demanded fines and imprisonment according to the amount of Rs.

The authority investigated the allegations of irregularity in the contract related to sewer construction from Basundhara to Mhepi under Samakhusi Corridor of the Metropolitan City . In which the contractor who received the lowest number of points was disqualified and a case was filed against them on the charge of awarding the contract after receiving more points.

Parallel Service Pvt Ltd, which received a low score, submitted a bid equal to 180.9 million 22 thousand 325 rupees, and the then employees of the metropolis have filed a case against Kalpvriksha Kohinoor, which received a higher score, with a proposal of 224 million 94 thousand 612. In this way, a case has been filed against the then chief administrative officer of the metropolis for damaging the property of a public organization in collusion, said Devi Prasad Thapalia, assistant spokesperson of the authority.

After being transferred from the executive of the metropolis, Pariyar then went to the Information and Broadcasting Department .
