Nepal police have arrested an Indian drug dealer by firing shots. On Tuesday, the team of Narcotics Control Bureau Koteshwar arrested 20-year-old Sumit Kumar of Bharat Pathana Danapur, 25-year-old Chandan Kumar Jaiswal, 40-year-old Sashik Alam of West Bengal Islampur and 22-year-old Mohammad Manjur Alam of Gunjaria Bihar. The police had to shoot to arrest two of them.
"We were looking for them based on the information that they have been dealing in buying and selling of brown heroin in the Kathmandu valley for a long time," said SP Janak Bahadur Shahi, information officer of the bureau, "we arrested Sumit Kumar and Chandan Kumar Jaiswal from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, Sundhara at 1 pm. Based on their information, we have taken Sashiq Alam and Mohammad Manzoor Alam into custody from behind Grandi Hospital in Tokha.'
While taking Sashik Alam and Mohammad Manzoor Alam into custody, they attacked the police with iron rods and the police opened fire, said SP Shahi. Manzoor Alam got 2 rounds in his left leg and Sashik Alam got 1 round in his left leg . They are now being treated at the National Trauma Center Kathmandu. Two others are under the control of the bureau for investigation.
According to SP Shahi, police senior constable Navraj Ghising was injured on his left knee and police assistant constable Ravindra KC on his right arm due to the attack of the drug dealer . "Initially, we tried to control it by firing four rounds from the air," Shahi said, "There was a police team of 5 people for control." After going to the police, the police had to shoot 3 rounds .
The police found 200 grams of brown heroin hidden inside the speaker.
