Speaker Devraj Ghimire has discussed with the chief whips and chief whips of the three major parties on the issue of removing the obstacles in the parliament. The Speaker held a discussion with Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bertaula and Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey at Singh Darbar on Sunday morning.
The Speaker expressed his displeasure saying that despite the adjournment of the Parliament meeting several times for consensus among the political parties, no solution was given. Mentioning that the discussion on the budget could not be started due to the obstruction of the Parliament, he asked to take care of the constitutional limits and practical aspects.
The main opposition Maoist chief whip Pandey informed that party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called a meeting of the opposition party in Baneshwar and then he will give his views. The ruling UML Chief Whip Bertaula and Congress Chief Whip Ghimire reiterated their stand that they cannot agree to the demand of the Home Minister's resignation and the formation of an inquiry committee as per the opposition party's demand.
The meeting of the House of Representatives has been called for 1 pm on Sunday.
