The main opposition party Maoist and the leader of Nepal's Unified Samajwadi Party have commented that the case against former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal for embezzlement of land of Patanjali Yoga Peeth and Ayurveda Company is vindictive.

They have argued that since the decision made by the then Council of Ministers under the leadership of Nepal is policy-based, it does not fall under the authority's jurisdiction.

A meeting of the opposition parties was held at Parliament House New Baneshwar on Friday, the day after the Authority filed a corruption case against 93 people, including the former Prime Minister of Nepal, who is also the president of the United Socialist Party. In the

meeting, there was a discussion on the question of whether the decision made by the then Council of Ministers led by Nepal about the land was policy or not. Chairman of the main opposition Maoists, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, argued that the decision taken by the Nepal Council of Ministers at the time was a policy one. He said that the question arose when the authority, which had already dismissed the case, said that the Cabinet decision was not within its jurisdiction.

Akhtiar's move has raised some questions. Any policy decision of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet is beyond the authority's jurisdiction. When the question was raised about the involvement of Baburam Bhattarai and Madhav Kumar Nepal in the land case of Lalita Niwas, the Authority said that it was not within its jurisdiction,' Dahal told the media after the meeting of the opposition party, 'Madhavji has made a policy decision.'

Maoist Chairman Dahal said that the ruling Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed ignorance to him about filing a case against the former Prime Minister of Nepal. Deubaji called yesterday. He himself asked me what happened about the case being registered against Nepalji,' he said, 'I thought Deubaji was not consulted while registering this case. Dahal says that he is confident that the court will acquit the former Prime Minister of Nepal. "Madhavji has shown confidence in the court," he said.

Integrated Samajwadi Party has concluded that filing a corruption case against the party president Nepal is a political revenge and conspiracy by the Oli government. "If the authority enters into the policy decisions made by the Cabinet, the former Prime Minister who made the decisions of other Cabinets will also be investigated," said Rajendra Pandey, Vice President of the United Socialist Party.

Swarnim Wagle, the vice president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, said that it should be clear whether the decision made by the Council of Ministers regarding Patanjali's land embezzlement case is political or not. "There is nothing more to say about the investigation and filing of the case by the authorities," he said. He said that the opposition party expected that the allegations against Nepal should be resolved soon.

In the indictment filed by the authority in the special court, the former Prime Minister of Nepal has been demanded to pay a fine of Rs.

With the claim of corruption as a high-ranking official, an additional 3 years of imprisonment has been demanded against him. With the filing of the case, the former Prime Minister has been suspended as a member of the Nepalese House of Representatives.
