Chairman and Prime Minister of the ruling CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli and former President Bidya Devi Bhandari are busy with the events taking place in the East.
Bhandari, who came down to Biratnagar on Thursday, has been busy with meetings and programs with various party workers in Morang since the same day. On Friday, Bhandari, who inaugurated the national meeting of the deputy heads and vice presidents of the municipality in Biratnagar, inaugurated the state-level science and technology exhibition at Devi Mavi of Jhapa Virtamod on Saturday. This exhibition is organized by the Department of Science and Technology of UML .
Oli came down to Biratnagar two days after Bhandari i.e. on Saturday. He is participating in the inauguration of Jeevan Bikas Community Hospital and Technical Education Foundation built in Kathari Rural Municipality-2 of Morang.
Oli-Bhandari's latest ex-Daudaha has started the discussion of a new political signal inside and outside the UML . Both the leaders have increased the activity in the two districts of the east in their agenda.
Bhandari is scheduled to participate in the program organized by Nari Sanchar Griha during her stay in Jhapa.
Former President Bhandari on Friday replied to a journalist's question regarding Vice President Nanda Bahadur's return to active politics by saying, 'I am active, I am in politics'.
After his statement, various analyzes are being done within the UML and in other political circles saying that it is a sign of Bhandari's active role. At this time, a wide discussion is going on within the Oli-led party regarding future strategy, organization expansion and future election preparations. In this situation, Oli is active in Daudaha, while Bhandari is also increasing her presence in public events.
A leader of UML said, "President Oli's leadership is preparing for a wide campaign to strengthen the organization at all levels of the party". We have also taken the former president's activism positively.'
Many people have linked Oli-Bhandari's activity towards the east with the upcoming federal and state elections. Some leaders within the party are considering Bhandari's activism as 'probably a sign connected to his future role within the party'.
Both Oli and Bhandari have prioritized the eastern districts as UML's base area is in the east. Analysts are looking with interest at the parallel activities of these two leaders, especially when UML is trying to regain its organizational strength in Koshi province.
Bhandari has been seen by many as the future president, said a UML leader.
Publicly, both of them called their travel and program as 'regular'. But in the last two days in the east, one of them chose Jhapa and the other chose Morang to show their activism.
