Former Prime Minister and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba called CPN S Chairman Madhav Kumar and asked him about the Nepal issue.
In a conversation with the media outside the parliament building on Friday, Speaker Dahal said that he was surprised when the leader of the largest party in the ruling party asked him.
'Deubaji called yesterday . He himself asked me about the case registered against Madhav Nepal - what happened? Now I was surprised when Sher Bahadurji said he would ask me. After the leader of the largest party in power told the leader of the opposition how Madhavaji's case was registered I said I should ask you. There was a bit of joking about it,' he said .
Chairman Dahal said that it was understood that Deuba also did not know about this matter . He further said, 'I felt that the Congress President Sher Bahadur Deubaji was not consulted while registering this case. Deubaji does not tell lies. It seems that the government has gone in a revengeful manner.' Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there is a smell of political revenge regarding the case against Nepal by the authority. In a conversation with the media persons outside the parliament building on Friday, President Dahal said that even though the case has been registered, Nepal itself and he is confident that the court will acquit him.
Dahal said that the decision of the Council of Ministers is not within its jurisdiction and the latest step of the authority has raised questions. 'Madhavaji himself has said that he is surprised, he has also shown confidence in the court. He has expressed his belief that the court will do justice. He has expressed his belief that he will return soon after being acquitted. I also believe that he will be acquitted,' said President Dahal.
