Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has said that the budget for the next financial year has given priority to clean the valley's rivers and upgrade corridor roads.

In the tree planting program organized by the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority today in Gokarneshwar-5 Bagmati Corridor, he said that the Ministry of Urban Development has allocated Rs 3.42 billion to clean the rivers of the valley including the Bagmati.

Minister Singh mentioned that the responsibility of protecting the environment is a shared responsibility of everyone and held the view that everyone's role in environment protection is important.

Saying that he has been interested in keeping the Bagmati flowing clean since the day he took over the ministry, he said that along with the Bagmati, all the rivers in the valley including Bishnumati, Dhobi Khola and other rivers are being made sewage-free.
