Former Prime Minister and CPN-S Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that a case has been registered against him on the instructions of Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Oli. After the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case in the special court in the Patanjali land embezzlement case, Nepal responded by saying that Oli was against him from the beginning.
'He has been against me since the beginning. His intention is to end my political career. You have tried the same way many times before. He is driven by the feeling of revenge,' he said in a conversation with media persons in Rautahat.
Nepal also claims that it has not done any wrongdoing in the Patanjali case. 'I don't know who put the loophole. I never imagined that such a thing would happen in an organization like Patanjali,' he said. Nepal also said that he would get information about the case and consult with legal professionals.
The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a case against the defendants in the land embezzlement case, including Nepal, in a special court on Thursday. It was the then Prime Minister of Nepal who gave instructions to purchase the land in the name of Patanjali at a limited discount and give approval to illegally sell it to the housing company within two months of the purchase.
In the year 2066, Patanjali Yogpeeth and Ayurveda Company of Indian yoga guru Ramdev bought 593 ropani land in Banepa of Kavre and sold 353 ropani to housing company.
