Four journalists, including Kantipur journalist Numa Thamsuhang and Sarita Channe, have been awarded with the Environmental Promotion Journalism Award. The Department of Environment honored Thamsuhang in the online category and the actor in the television category.
Similarly, Opendra Basnet of Dang was awarded in the radio/FM category and Vishnu Neupane of Annapurna Post was awarded in the newspaper and print category. State Minister for Forests and Environment Rupa Bishwakarma awarded the four journalists with cash at a program organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Environment Day on Thursday. The prize amount is 40 thousand.
Environment Department has been distributing environmental promotion journalism awards and honors since the financial year 2079/80. The department has also honored Environment Inspector Navina Maharjan, Govind Lamichhane and Prakash KC.
