At the 'Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction' conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, Gokarmani Duwadi, Home Secretary of the Government of Nepal, informed about the current situation and efforts of Nepal. He informed about the situation of Nepal regarding disaster risk preparedness and its implementation regarding increasing financial flow for climate change and disaster mitigation.

He mentioned that there are various natural risks in Nepal and said that the Nepal government has continued its efforts and actions with high priority for its preparation and solution. In addition to this, Duwadi also emphasized the need for global coordination to reduce disaster risk. At the

conference, various issues of disaster management and disaster risk reduction were discussed and the best practices of the respective countries were presented. It is believed that this type of conference will be fruitful in the matters of good practices for disaster management in the world and mutual cooperation. Earlier, while addressing the conference, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal said that the role of community-level volunteers and indicators is very important in disaster risk reduction. 

This conference, which started on June 2, will end tomorrow on June 6.
