A blush developed on Makot's face

Motorways are reached, houses are metered, there are fields full of corn and lots of apples, and homestays and hotels are ready to welcome guests.

Somewhere in the field, the corn planted in spring is blooming, and in some places, the apples are bearing fruit. Puthauttarganga-1 Macot village of Rukum East is looking beautiful at this time with the weather in mid-June, neither winter nor summer. Even though the winter rains and snowfall are not enough, the farmers are happy when the land is irrigated by the frequent rains since Chaita.

There is not much activity in the village at this time. The reason is that most of the people of the village have gone up to Buki to pick Yarchagumbu. They went to sow corn in March and will return only in mid-June. School children and old people are found in the village.

People in the village are organizing a corn threshing fair. The dangdang...dungdung... sound of horse-ketch that was heard two/four years ago is not heard much now. Because the motorway has reached Macot. For the past few years, it has been possible to reach Makot after walking for about half a day from there to Hukam and Gara by motor.

Anyone coming from Dang-Rolpa via Sahid Marg and from Kathmandu-Pokhara via Madhyapahari Lokmarg will reach Makot after leaving Madhyapahari Lokmarg at Bhumeko Kakri and traveling about 55 km.

Taksera and other beautiful villages and Pakhapakhera are sprinkled with dirt roads under construction at the foot of the Bhimkaya hills. Since there is no bridge in the Batwa river from Hukam, the river rises when it rains, it is difficult to pull the motor. The way up from the river to Macot is not that easy.

The track that was opened only a few months ago is a bit steep, so you can only reach Macot with a four-wheel vehicle. Ramprasad Pun, a local, says that although they are happy that the motor has reached Makot, anyone who looks at the road from the Batwa river will be scared. "The road came but it was too steep," he says, "now this road also needs to be repaired, and a bridge is also needed in Batwa." "It is only heard, but not confirmed. If it happened, it would have been good. If it had not happened, our suffering would have remained the same," he says.

A blush developed on Makot's face

One of the wonderful developments seen while visiting Makot village is drinking water. With the help of an NGO called 'Kaduri', there are water pipes with meters in every house. Now it is said that it will take some time to operate the water there. Locally produced electricity has provided light, but there is a problem of power not reaching the entire village.

Macot seems to be ready to welcome a visitor. Homestays and hotels are also operating here. On the whole, Macot's face is blushing with development. If it is accelerated, the face of the locals will also change.
