A week after the vandalism of Tribhuvan University, the Ministry of Education issued a statement saying that Education Minister Raghuji Pant is in consultation with the higher levels of the Home Administration. Last Wednesday, officials including the Swaviyu president elected from the ruling Navy Association vandalized and damaged the office of the Vice-Chancellor Khadg KC.

Although the Executive Council of the University filed a complaint with the Kirtipur Police Circle to take action against the culprits, the police did not proceed with the investigation process. The police have been backing away saying that a complaint is necessary to investigate and prosecute criminal incidents such as vandalism of public property.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Shivkumar Sapkota, has issued a statement and said that the Vice-Chancellor and the Minister of Education are studying the incident closely. "Minister, whoever is involved in such undisciplined and illegal activities, identify them through serious investigation and bring them under the scope of legal action, in consultation with the higher levels of the home administration, and make a necessary request to the relevant officials," said the statement.

  Action has been suspected as the convicts are under the protection of Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. The Ministry of Education has also asked the concerned parties to spontaneously take precautionary measures to prevent such untoward incidents from happening in any university or educational institution in the future. Stating that attention has been drawn to the incident of vandalism, the ministry said that violent, illegal and disrupting the academic calendar in the university is reprehensible and reprehensible.
