In the case of visit visa, the opposition parties have reiterated their old stance that Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar should resign and help in the investigation. In the meeting of the chief vigilantes called by Speaker Devraj Ghimire at Parliament House on Wednesday afternoon, the main opposition party Maoist has said that the old position remains intact.
Maoist chief whip Hitraj Pandey, who participated in the meeting, said that there was no agreement as the government side was not ready to resign from the home minister and form an inquiry committee. He said, 'The government could not reach an agreement after talking about opening the House only without talking about both of these things . We have said that the Home Minister should pave the way to help the inquiry committee. Our main issue is that there should be an independent investigation into the visit visa setting.' Pandey also said that if the government is not ready to meet these demands, the obstruction will continue in the House.
The meeting called by Speaker Ghimire was attended by Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurisaya, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bertaula, Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire and Maoist Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey. Due to the stand of the opposition parties, the Parliament session could not be held on Tuesday. The meeting called for 1 pm on Wednesday has also become uncertain . But after more than 1 hour, it has not progressed.
