Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the country cannot develop as long as inhumane and punishable behavior exists in the state.
In a program held at the Party Central Office Sanepa on Wednesday, Chairman Deuba recalled that along with the changes of 2062/063, a resolution was passed to declare Nepal an untouchable nation in the restored parliament with the aim of building an egalitarian society.
Chairman Deuba said that it is very painful to see and hear cases of discrimination such as Dalit community people losing their lives despite many efforts. He said that since the establishment of the party, the aim has been to make Nepal a non-discrimination state and establish an egalitarian society.
'With the change of 2062/063, a resolution to declare Nepal an untouchable nation was also passed in the restored parliament with the aim of building an egalitarian society . It is extremely painful to see and hear incidents of discrimination like the loss of lives of people from the Dalit community despite all these efforts," he said. "Past experience has proven that the country will not develop as long as such inhumane and punishable behavior exists in the state. Since the establishment of our party, it has been our aim to make Nepal a non-discrimination state and establish an egalitarian society.' He said that there is a provision in the constitution that a person who discriminates caste cannot be a member of Congress.
