Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the Congress will launch a nationwide campaign against caste discrimination and untouchability. He said that the Congress is currently the largest political and social organization in the country and said that the second generation of the Congress will lead to the end of all the differences in the society.

Speaking at a program held at the central office in Sanepa on Wednesday regarding the Elimination of Caste Discrimination Day, General Minister Thapa said that the concept of 'Summunnat Samaj, Samunnat Nepali' has been advanced to the society based on the commitment against discrimination.

'We are now in government . After some time, we will also lead the government . We are also the most social organization in Nepal. Therefore, at this time, if we want, we can run a campaign against caste discrimination all over the country,' he said.

He said that it would not be appropriate to explain now that the Congress had made a Dalit the Chief Minister in 2009. 'The party's step should be moving forward. BP Koirala launched a campaign to eliminate caste discrimination in 2007. In 2009, he made Dhanman Singh Periyar the Chief Minister. At that time, eating together and sitting together was a bigger revolutionary thing. But now that is not enough," he said. "Equality is the main issue now. For equality, it is not enough to have equal rights, special arrangements must be made accordingly.'
