A corruption case has been filed against the former Chief Minister of the Sudurpaschim Province and the Member of Parliament of the Province, Galigh Bahadur Sodari.
The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission on Monday filed a case against Sodari in a special court on charges of illegally acquiring property.
According to the authority, it has been seen that Sodari earned a statutory income of eighty-five lakh one thousand three hundred and thirty-four rupees and ninety-two paise during the investigation period from the date of holding public office on 2074.10.07 to 2079.11.10. But during the same period, when calculating the income and expenses, since they could not show the account equal to one million eight hundred and eighty thousand three hundred two rupees, the corruption case was filed as a mistake, according to Rajendra Kumar Paudel, the spokesperson of the Authority.
Sodari is a Member of Parliament elected from Kailali 4(1) from the Integrated Socialist Party. Sodari was elected as a member of the State Assembly in 2074. He was also in charge of the social development minister of the province from January 2074 to October 2075. Similarly, he became the physical infrastructure development minister of the province from June 14, 2078 to November 2079.
