Central member of Nepali Congress Nainsingh Mahar has said that the youth general ministers in the party have not fulfilled their responsibilities.
He said that the meeting of the central committee of the party has not been held for 10 months and alleged that the party is operating illegally.
Leader Mahar, who is also the former president of the Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh and the head of the party's education department, speaking at a press conference held by the press union in Taplejung on Saturday, said that the party is once again unable to hold its convention as per the time set by the statute.
'The party has young chief ministers. But the Nepali Congress has not been able to work according to the law. Even the Chief Ministers have not been able to fulfill their responsibilities,' he said, 'the decision of the office-bearers' meeting does not run the party. That structure is not recognized by statute. The meeting of the Central Committee has not been held for 10 months, he said.
Leader Mahar said that there should be a change in the working style and behavior of the party. Leader Mahar said that the budget brought by the government did not inspire hope among the people. 'There are many weaknesses in the budget. This is not according to the spirit of the two-thirds government,' he said, 'a government made up of two major parties is not enough to bring such a budget.'
He expressed his displeasure that the government has not allocated 11 percent of the budget to education, saying that they have been demanding 20 percent allocation to the education sector.
