The alternative roads constructed under East-West Mahendra Highway in Chormara, Dumkibas and Daunne have been swept away by the flood, traffic has come to a standstill.
According to District Police Chief Yadav Dhakal, the traffic has come to a standstill due to Thursday night's rain, which washed away the diversions of Chormara, Dumkibas and Downe roads under Mahendra Highway. He said that the work of construction of alternative road in those places has started from Friday morning.

The alternate road has been swept away by Thursday night's flood in Dumkibas under East Nawalparasi.
Bhusal informed that the pick-up van carrying vegetables numbered Lu 3 Ch 8493 was swept away by the flood. According to Bhusal, there was no human loss.
Similarly, the temporary road constructed after the iron bridge of Choramara under the Mahendra highway was washed away. On the other hand, thousands of passengers are stranded on the highway due to the collapse of the Binayi Khola Bridge at Dumkibas.
