Excavation in Narayani did not stop even when it rained, people and vehicles did not flow

This year's monsoon has not entered Nepal. But it has been raining continuously for a few days. After the rains, the havoc of floods and landslides has already started in some places. But the excavation is continuing in Narayani river.

Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, 22 people were trapped in Narayani when the flow suddenly increased during the excavation of gravel and stone. They were rescued by the rescue team of the armed police in a rubber boat. Eight tippers and one machine were stranded in the middle of the island. A tipper is lying on the bank of the river  .

Even after half past five in the afternoon on Thursday, there was a lot of activity in Shivghat area to extract gravel and stones. Dozens of tippers were running back and forth. Three/four excavators were taking out ballast stones from the river and pouring them into the tipper . After being filled with gravel/stones, the tipper used to leave the main road from Ramghat along the coast a little below Shivghat. But at half past five, the atmosphere there suddenly became different .

After hearing that, the drivers left their work and gave machines and vehicles to Narayani's vandalism. The tipper number 033-001 and 0921 was also driven from Bhangalo by the driver Navraj Gurung. But the tipper got stuck in the valley . The driver Navraj suddenly got out and swam to the shore.

After learning about the incident, a team of the 17th Gana of the Armed Police in Narayangarh Aamptari reached for rescue . Our team reached the spot before 6 o'clock with a rubber boat. We have safely evacuated 22 people trapped on the island," said DSP Vinod Khatiwada of Anptari 17th Gana of Armed Police. There, only three days ago, gravel and stones had started to be extracted.

Excavation in Narayani did not stop even when it rained, people and vehicles did not flow After the mandate of Bharatpur Metropolitan Corporation, Chlang Construction Company started excavation there . In Shivghat, there are small islands formed by the break of the river during the rainy season . To reach one of these islands, you have to go about two to three hundred meters from the river bank. You have to cross a small gap to reach the excavation site.
