UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that there is a need for a strong political party rather than many political parties in the country.

He said this while speaking at the 'Ganatantra Utsav' organized by UML in Kathmandu on Thursday on the occasion of Republic Day.

Stating that the journey of development and prosperity that they wanted could not proceed due to political instability, he said, 'We want to establish NCP (UML) as a strong national power, as a decisive national power . Only democracy and republic can build that strong and decisive national power.' 

He said that ``Ganatantra Utsav'' will be celebrated countrywide with more grandeur and grandeur next year .
