On the eve of the first Constituent Assembly election, four people, including Congress leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam, were acquitted by the Janakpur temporary bench Birganj, who were accused of throwing the injured alive in the brick kiln after the bomb blast in Rautahat.
Reversing the order of District Court Rautahat, the bench of Judges Khushi Prasad Tharu and Arjun Maharjan on Wednesday acquitted Alam along with his brother Mohammad Mahtab Alam, Sheikh Saraj and Badri Sahni by reversing the decision of District Court Rautahat .
Tehsalidar Dhruv Subedi of High Court Birgunj informed that all four persons have been acquitted . District Court Rautahat gave them a verdict of life imprisonment on 14 Baisakh 2081. Alam was arrested by the police in October 2076 after 12 years of the incident. In the case of local Mukti Sah, who is said to be involved in the
incident, the verdict was pronounced that the claim was not sufficient. District Court Judge Matrika Prasad Acharya ordered that the case of Mohammad Mobin, Sheikh Fazle, Sheikh Bhadai, Sahil Alam and Sheikh Jumai, who were said to be fugitives in the incident, be adjourned.
Even in the verdict of life imprisonment, he reached the Virgunj bench of the High Court Janakpur against the order of Alam Parivar District Court Rautahat.
