Monsoon has entered the southern states of India, when will it start in Nepal?

Heavy rains have already started in the southern Indian states of Kerala, Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, affecting life. Could this be a sign of something for Nepal? We asked this question to David Dhakal, a meteorologist at the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology.

He said, 'It can be estimated that there is a possibility of heavy rains during the monsoon period in Nepal, and it is a sign that we should prepare accordingly.'

As the monsoon entered the southern state of Kerala eight days before the Sardar last Saturday, it is predicted that the monsoon will enter Nepal faster than the Sardar . Monsoon has arrived in some parts of Assam and eastern parts of Bhutan and Bangladesh on Tuesday, as it is mentioned in the monsoon arrival monitoring bulletin issued by the Weather Forecast Division at Tribhuvan International Airport that monsoon will enter Nepal faster than Sardar. According to the

bulletin, 'based on the analysis of cloud images obtained from satellites, data obtained from atmospheric and weather models, this year's monsoon is likely to enter from the eastern part of Nepal by the end of this week.' According to the

weather forecast bulletin, heavy rain is forecast for the next three days, namely Thursday evening and Friday afternoon and at night in some places of Koshi, Gandaki and Madhesh provinces. Meteorologist Dhakal said. He said, 'Thursday evening in the Himalayan and hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki and Friday afternoon and night in some places of Koshi and Madhesh, heavy rain is expected.'

Monsoon usually arrives in Kerala state of India on May 31 or June 1 (Jeth 17 or 18) and reaches Nepal by June 13 (Jeth 30). Dr. Madan Sigdel, associate professor of the Central Department of Water and Meteorology of Tribhuvan University, says that since it has entered Kerala early this year, it is expected to enter Nepal soon, but it cannot be said for sure. "Last year, the monsoon from the Bay of Bengal was stuck for a few days after coming over Bangladesh and under Siliguri in West Bengal state of India. It cannot be said that it will arrive at the same time due to the activity of the monsoon and the flow of the wind and Nepal's own geographical features," he said. He said that since Kathmandu is suffering from flooding, it is necessary to do things like cleaning the sewers from the community level as well.

When last year's monsoon started three days early and left ten days late, according to the National Disaster Authority's 'preliminary estimate of damage and loss', more than 46 billion 68 million 43 million was damaged . 081 When it was active from May 28 to October 26, there was more monsoon rain than Sardar . According to the analysis of the Department of Water and Meteorology, last year there was the heaviest rainfall in the history of 77 years.
