Rajendra Lingden, the chairman of RPP, the main constituent party of the ex-monarchist groups, who have been protesting for the restoration of the monarchy since June 15, has said that they do not want to restore a king like the one who staged a 'coup' like on January 19.
While interacting with media editors in the capital city on Tuesday, he asserted that the monarchy and king they are going to bring will not be the same as in the past. We have tried to bring good things both yesterday and today.' Kamal Thapa, President of RPP Nepal, who is collaborating with RPP on the front of the
movement, mentioned that if the constitution is amended, there is a situation where the meeting point of monarchists and republicans can be found, so they are trying to create public pressure through the movement. He also mentioned that since the royal system and the king are different, the person who becomes the king within the royal system can also be new.
In order to become the king of the Shah dynasty, instead of Gyanendra, he mentioned that his grandson Hridayendra can also be brought as he is now young. Thapa said about the style and destination of the movement, "We disobey the nobles, we bring the republicans to a point where they have to come to terms with the widespread presence of the people." In the past, this constitution has been amended twice due to street pressure. Even now, through the pressure of the street, we will bring it to the point of amending the constitution to include everything.'
Former monarchist parties and groups such as RPRPA, which are agitating for the restoration of the monarchy, have claimed that the new phase of the movement, which will begin on May 15th, will be peaceful. But since there is a risk that the Prime Minister and his party UML will incite a movement, they have asked everyone including human rights activists to watch it closely.
RPPA President Lingden, RPPA Nepal President Thapa, Rajsatsha Restoration Movement Coordinator Navraj Subedi and Rashtriya Shakti Nepal Coordinator Keshar Bahadur Bista requested close monitoring as there is a risk of incitement.
'May The program of 15 is peaceful. On March 15, the act of inciting the demonstration happened . It is not true that it will not happen this time as well, the Prime Minister's expression came like that,' RPP Chairman Lingden said, 'This is the right given by the constitution to oppose the republic.' The constitution has provided for the right to demand a monarchy.' He said that after they decided the Rajdhani Ratnapark area for the demonstration, the Prime Minister decided to hold his party's program at that place, so it seemed that he was trying to provoke.
'Our movement is based on Satyagraha . Under the control of the organizers. 2,000 volunteers are deployed," said Lingden while informing about the nature of the movement. "We will not set up a stage in this program.
President Lingden mentioned that two-thirds of the votes do not come from the current election system and that no change in the past was made in Nepal through elections and said that they are still under public pressure to change the system. We have used this constitution and parliament as a movement. The current problem is not only in the leadership but also in the system. This arrangement should be modified, said President Lingden.
He said that the monarchy and the king they are going to bring are not like the past . We are not trying to bring a king who will do a 'coup' like on January 19. We have tried to bring good things both yesterday and today,' he said.
Thapa, Nepal's president of RPP, said that all the groups have come together since now is the most suitable time after 2062/063 for the restoration of monarchy, restoration of Hindu state and abolition of federalism. 'We have come here from the waterlogged situation. This is the most favorable situation now,' Thapa said. Subedi, coordinator of the
movement, said that the movement will be non-violent but the attitude of the government is not right. 'The movement is non-violent . The government's attitude is not right, so we have come to plead with you to witness our peaceful movement,' said coordinator Subedi.
Bista, the coordinator of Rashtriya Shakti, also said that he came to the journalists in search of support because there was danger in the Bhadra Disobedience Movement.
