Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has said that it would be a prejudiced demand to say that the Home Minister should resign when the employees under the ministry are under investigation. This statement of Khatiwada, who is also the Chairman of the Public Order and Good Governance Committee, came at a time when questions were being raised about the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar on the visit visa issue and the opposition parties were protesting in the Parliament.
Speaking to the media at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar on Tuesday, MP Khatiwada said that it was not right to demand the resignation of the minister when the staff were being investigated. He also said that the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission is investigating the employee in the case of visit visa. He also said that whoever is found guilty in the investigation should be brought to justice.
MP Khatiwada says that the demand that the Home Minister should resign on the basis that the investigation has started on the employee is not reasonable. An employee should be investigated impartially. If there is a mistake, people of any level should come under the scope of action . But it is biased to say that the Home Minister should resign when investigating someone. Ministers will resign if there are complaints against their subordinates?', he said, 'Now, a system has been started to write an employee in each office to write a complaint for every application submitted to the authority. One employee is only hired to respond to complaints. The authority is a constitutional body and the authority is investigating . Action should be taken as revealed by the investigation. But how reasonable would it be to ask for the resignation of the Home Minister over this matter?
The opposition party, including the main opposition Maoists, blocked the Parliament demanding that the Home Minister should resign to help in the investigation, alleging that the Home Minister was involved in the writer's visit visa case. The demand to establish a high-level inquiry commission for the investigation of the visit visa issue has also come to the parliament.
