Newman Ozkan, head of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Nepal, has said that the labor agreement between Nepal and the destination country needs to focus on the rights of migrant workers.

'Nepali workers are facing challenges in labor migration. Protecting the rights of workers is within the responsibility of both countries," he said. "Labor agreements should include international standards related to labor. For this, bargaining skills are needed.
He said that the ILO is facilitating between destination and source countries to protect the rights of workers from limited labor, transparent recruitment process, and safe workplace. The United Nations guidelines on labor contracts have been made. According to this, if there is a labor agreement, all the rights of the workers will be protected and ensured," he said.
