Arun Kunwar of Puri panel won as secretary
Kshitij Thebe has been re-elected as the president of UML's brother organization Rashtriya Yuva Sangh. He was elected as the president for the second time after defeating another competitor Suman Puri by a margin of 188 votes. Thebe got 796 votes while Puri got 688 votes. Out of a total of 1,764 voters, 1,444 votes were cast.
Puri was earlier the Secretary General . After the failure of the unanimous leadership selection, Thebe and Puri formed a panel and entered the election. Electronic voting was held from Tuesday morning.
Thebe panel's Mahesh Chaulagai got 755 votes while Puri panel's Kuber Adhikari got 649 votes. From Thebe panel, Maharaj Gurung and Vinay Shah are the vice presidents, Mahesh Chaulagai is the general secretary, Upendra Shahi is the deputy general secretary, Madan Bhandari is the secretary and Arun Kunwar of the Puri panel, Nisha Limbu Subba is the women's secretary, Mobin Akhtar Alam is the Madhesi secretary.
Mohammad Nizamuddin (Nizam) has been elected as the Chairman of the Disciplinary Commission, Madan Giri as the Chairman of the Election Commission, Krishna Dutt Jaisi as the Chairman of the Accounts Commission, China Lama as the Youth Expert Council. From Puri panel, Prakash Gautam and Parbat Bhandari were candidates for vice president, Kuber Adhikari for general secretary, Khemraj Sharma for deputy general secretary, Arun Kunwar and Dhruv Khadka for secretaries, Reshu Tamang for women's secretary, Chitaranjan Yadav for Madhesi secretary.
Ajayjung Shahi as the Chairman of the Disciplinary Commission, Shiv Rimal as the Chairman of the Election Commission, Vikram Gurung as the Chairman of the Accounts Commission, and Modnath Silwal (Santosh) as the Chairman of the Youth Expert Commission were nominated from the Puri panel.
Association's 10th 163 people were to be elected by the convention and 64 positions were elected unopposed. The session was inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli last Friday.
