The ruling party Nepali Congress has made it clear that the Congress will not take responsibility for everything said by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Speaking to the journalists after the meeting of the Congress officials held at the residence of party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday, spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that Prime Minister Oli is also the chairman of CPN (UML) and clarified that Congress does not take responsibility for everything he said.
He said that they are in defense of the entire constitution. Spokesperson Mahat mentioned that one can use the rights given by the constitution to protest and express their opinions and that should be done in a peaceful manner.
Regarding the movement called by the royalists for 15th of June, he said that the activities against the constitution will not be acceptable for the Congress.
He said, 'The Prime Minister is also the leader of the UML party. We did not take responsibility for everything he said. We are not interested in possession. We are in favor of protecting the Constitution as a whole. You can protest by using the rights given by the constitution, you can keep your things. However, it should be kept in a peaceful manner. We are sure that it is not right to go against the constitution.'
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in a program on Sunday, instructed the activists to quell the movement called by the royalists for June 15th. He said that Kathmandu should be under the control of UML from 11 am to 2 pm on Republic Day. —News Agency Nepal
