Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba held a meeting with Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA Chairman Tanaka Akihiko on Friday. In the meeting held at JICA's headquarters in Tokyo, Nepal-Japan bilateral relations and various issues of mutual interest were discussed.
During the meeting, Minister Rana expressed his gratitude on behalf of Nepal for the support that the Japanese government has been providing through JICA for a long time in the economic and social sectors of Nepal.
Minister Rana appreciated JICA's support in areas such as economic growth and poverty alleviation, disaster risk reduction and climate change and strengthening good governance and democracy for Nepal through its basic support policy.
Minister Rana on this occasion appreciated the support provided by the Japanese government through JICA to several areas of Nepal including construction of Nagadhunga tunnel, reconstruction and maintenance of Sindhuli Bardibas road. In the
meeting, they discussed Nepal-Japan relations, JICA's support to Nepal, climate change and its effects, disaster management, good governance and senior citizens. There was a conversation.
