Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that he will take the initiative to rebuild the Kamala river bridge as soon as possible. The Home Minister said this while inspecting the Kamala bridge construction site Busbitta on Friday.
Admitting that the state is weak in the construction of this bridge, the author said that the current government is serious about it. "This bridge is the backbone of the Hulaki highway, I understand how it has affected the lives of the people in this area," he said, "The state has failed in this, but the current government is serious about it." During that time, he monitored and said that the bridge will be constructed and operational soon.
The bridge is being constructed in Kamala since 31st May 2068. However, even in 14 years, this bridge has not been built. This bridge, which has reached the final stage of construction due to time and time extension, was unable to withstand the normal flood on June 17, 2017. After the bridge was washed away, reconstruction was started again, so far only the foundations of both sides of the bridge have been laid.
