The parliamentarian asked the Chairman of the Audit Committee: Why is there no Maoist in the sub-committee on Bhairawa Airport?

The MP has objected to the absence of members from the main opposition Maoists in the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives formed to investigate the errors, irregularities and corruption during the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Airport located in Bhairahawa.

Maoist Member of Parliament Lekhnath Dahal questioned Committee Chairman Rishikesh Pokharel as to why MPs from his party were not included in the said sub-committee.

In the Wednesday meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, MP Dahal objected to the fact that no members from Maoists were kept in the sub-committee on Bhairahawa Airport. "Bhairawa International Airport Study Sub-Committee has been formed without the presence of Maoists. I express my objection that our party members were not made participants in Bhairahawa,' he said.

Congress MP Manju Khan has been made the coordinator of the said sub-committee. UML's Yogesh Bhattarai, who was previously the coordinator of the sub-committee, has made it clear that he will not sit. He says that he will not be a member of the committee.  The remaining members of the

committee are UML's Achyut Mainali and Saraj Ahmed Farooqui. Congress's Shyam Kumar Ghimire and RSVP's Manish Jha. RPP's Vikram Pandey and Independent MP Amresh Kumar Singh are also members.

Dahal also reminded Chairman Pokharel of the parliamentary practice that should be given to the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
