UML Member of Parliament and former Civil Aviation Minister Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the report of the sub-committee formed by the Public Accounts Committee to study Pokhara Airport, headed by Rajendra Lingden, has called for the airport to be closed.
In Wednesday's meeting of the Accounts Committee, MP Bhattarai also said that Pokhara International Airport has been defamed. He said to Lingden, 'This language of your report says that Pokhara Regional International Airport will be closed.'
Bhattarai said that what was written that the Pokhara International Airport will be operated only after it is made fully operable means that the airport will be closed now. He also said that Pokhara International Airport has been blamed. He said that the sub-committee should give suggestions on how to operate the airport. 'We are defaming the project of national pride. International media is covering . This is what I was looking for. "Some people were looking for a similar situation in Pokhara, Bhairahawa Airport," he said.
Bhattarai said that if any person from UML is involved in the construction of this airport, action will be taken and he is also ready for it. If someone from my party is involved, they will be prosecuted. I am the Minister of Tourism, if called, I will go to give a statement,' he said.
