Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the danger has increased in the republic.
Addressing the 7th National Conference of All Nepal Women's Association (Socialist) held in Kathmandu on Saturday, President Nepal said that since the people are trying to raise their head again against the regressive elements that have been uprooted, the party has started a movement to unite against it.
He said, 'now there is a danger and challenge in democracy. The reactionary element that was uprooted in the past is trying to raise its head again. Our party has embarked on a movement to extinguish it.'
He claimed that because the communist movement had liberated the people, no one but the communist party could fulfill the dream of socialism.
He emphasized on the need to take the movement to a new height by dealing with many distortions and discrepancies seen in the communist movement.
He said, 'We are trying to raise people with revolutionary thoughts while dealing with many kinds of distortions and disharmony seen in the communist movement. It is important to understand the characteristics of the country. We became weak because we did not know how to enjoy success. You should accept your shortcomings and proceed without prejudice. If it is possible to connect with the people, if it is possible to fight against inequality, the party's movement will remain viable. Whether it is feudal culture or corruption, we have always been fighting.'
President Nepal has said that it is necessary to discuss the issue of advancing the communist movement based on the country's situation.
