The Special Envoy on Climate Change and Sustainability of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Badr Umar Smail Al Dafa, who is visiting Nepal, met with Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri.
According to the ministry, they discussed various matters of mutual interest between the two countries during the meeting held today at the Everest dialogue venue.
On that occasion, Minister Shahi mentioned that long-term strategic partnership can be established between the two countries in the fields of forestry and environment, technology transfer, pollution control and innovation.
In addition, Minister Shahi said that a correspondence will be made within a month to advance the process for providing a pair of elephants which are said to be provided as a gift by Nepal to the government of Qatar. Special Envoy Dafa expressed his gratitude to Minister Shahi's proposal.
