Day 2 of Everest Dialogue 2025: Green economy, harm prevention, climate justice and human future discussed

On the second day (May 3) of the first edition of 'Sagarmatha Dialogue 2025' organized by Nepal, green economy, harm prevention, climate justice and human future are being discussed.

In the dialogue that started on Friday, Nepal has raised the agenda of climate justice and human future by connecting the mountains to the island nations to prevent the risk of climate change from increasing, prioritizing green economy, finding ways to avoid and address the damage of climate change, increasing global and regional partnership on climate. It has been discussing this with representatives of various countries, development partners, experts, and researchers since Friday. 

is also discussing to emphasize the use of clean energy for the green economy on Saturday. The aim of this discussion is to limit global temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

Similarly, the aim is to highlight the importance of mountain risk assessment and monitoring in the context of climate-induced disasters in order to avoid damage and loss, to discuss the challenges, opportunities and innovations in mountain disaster risk assessment. The purpose of today's discussion is to find practical solutions for building a safe and sustainable mountain community through

dialogue and knowledge exchange, to analyze the relationship between climate change and urbanization and its impact on urban communities, especially the urban poor. This dialogue will be completed on 4th of June.
