The Supreme Court has dismissed the writ petition demanding to stop Vishwa Poudel from being appointed as the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. Supreme Court Registrar Bhadrakali Pokharel has filed a writ petition against Poudel.

According to Supreme Court Sub-Registrar Nirajan Pandey, the writ petition against Paudel has been decided citing three reasons.

'The opposition has shown that the reason for the violation of collective rights has not been disclosed in the writ petition. Pandey said, "The opposition has not been recommended for the post of governor by the Governor's Recommendation Committee and the petition has been submitted for the registration of a petition on an uncertain matter," said Pandey.

Advocates Vishal Thapa and Pratibha Upreti submitted a writ claiming that Paudel was going to be appointed as the governor. They also claimed that Paudel was not qualified to be the governor.
