Maoist Deputy General Secretary Janardhan Sharma has met Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who reached Dadeldhura during the Madhyapahari highway campaign, reached Budhanilkanth, Sharma Deuba's residence, after having a telephone conversation with Deuba.
Sharma said that Deuba talked about 'contemporary political' issues. "Contemporary political issues were discussed," was there any discussion about the new alliance? In response to the question, he said that there was a contemporary political conversation with Deubaji. There is nothing else like that.'
Congress-Maoist coalition government was formed in February 2080, two months after UML-Maoist coalition government was formed after the last general election. Sharma was one of the leaders of that alliance. Some have taken his meeting with Deuba as meaningful.
In the telephone conversation between the two leaders, Deuba expressed his welcome to his home district and wished him success in the political campaign. Dahal took information about the latest news of Kathmandu.
'There is no focus on making or overthrowing the government. The government has gone in the wrong direction. The good governance works that we have started are about to be destroyed. It has gone the opposite way. We are worried. We are not in the game of overthrowing the government," Dahal said. "We contacted Deubaji. Welcome to my district.'
