The first edition of 'Sagarmatha Samvad' organized by Nepal Government has started. Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba welcomed all the participants in the Everest Dialogue and thanked them. The Everest Dialogue which started on Friday (June 2) in Kathmandu will continue till Sunday.
In this dialogue, which focuses on climate change, mountains and human future, it has been clarified that there will be a comprehensive discussion about the current situation of climate change and the challenges it is causing.
Also, Minister Deuba mentioned that since climate change is not only a single country but a global problem, commitment, cooperation and coordination are necessary.
Our efforts alone are not enough to tackle this common problem. That's why Nepal has organized the Everest Dialogue to create a common platform for collective cooperation and coordination,' she said, 'This conference will be important to collectively advocate for the current situation in which Nepal is suffering unimaginable damage from climate change and to further raise the voice of climate justice that Nepal is raising on world platforms.'
