Permanent Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Neelam Dhungana has said that the main need of the Nepalese economy now is to increase production and productivity.
Addressing the 57th anniversary ceremony of Nepal Insurance Authority, Dhungana said that for this, the banking and insurance sectors should cooperate with each other and increase investment in the productive sector. Dhungana also said that ensuring the security of
investment and entrepreneurship is inevitable. She said that because the role of technology in the development of the insurance sector is very effective, the insurance claim process, premium collection, customer service and risk assessment will be more effective in Nepali insurance companies through technologies such as digital platforms, mobile apps, and artificial intelligence.

Nepali insurance company should use technology like digital platform, mobile app, artificial intelligence. Through this, operations such as insurance claim process, premium collection, customer service and risk assessment will be more effective. Through which the services provided by the insurance business can be made high-quality, fast, transparent, accessible and trustworthy.
Dhungana said that even as a regulatory body, Bima Pranikaran should pay more attention to insurance-related security issues. According to him, the insurance authority should be able to ensure timely payment of insurance claims. If that can be done, she said, people's confidence in insurance will increase.
Dhunga says that if people get timely claim payments during crises such as accidents and natural disasters, a positive message will be sent and others will be encouraged to take insurance . She said that to make the insurance business and the services provided by it more effective in Nepal, it is necessary to put more emphasis on insurance education, insurance business promotion and the protection of the rights and interests of the insured.
According to Dhungana, there is a current need to promote insurance as an integral part of every economic activity.
