Member of the House of Representatives Mohan Bahadur Basnet has been suspended from the post of MP. Basnet is a Congress MP elected from Sindhupalchok-2.
Basnet was suspended from the post of MP after the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case against 16 individuals and two companies in a special court. Section 33 of the Prevention of Corruption Act provides for the automatic suspension of the post of MP when a corruption case is filed.
