Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has promised to be guided by the topics and suggestions made by the MPs in the pre-budget discussion in the Federal Parliament while preparing the budget for the next financial year.
Stating that the budget should be disciplined, he said that in order to address the aspirations of the people and take steps towards prosperity, budgetary discipline should be followed.
Deputy Prime Minister Paudel said that the budget will be created along with policies and programs while answering the questions raised by the parliamentarians during the discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill in the meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday. He said that the principles and priorities of the budget have been determined to match the policies and programs and then the budget will come.
Paudel said that the concerns, suggestions and ideas expressed by the parliamentarians regarding the construction of the budget are not meaningless. He requested that the suggestions received from the Parliament be taken into consideration during the preparation of the budget and be confident that the budget will be prepared based on these suggestions.
'Suggestions, comments and some expectations given by the MPs have been expressed. The thoughts, suggestions and ideas expressed here are not meaningless. We have established a system in terms of budgeting. The final authority to decide on how to use the tax paid by the people is the people's representatives, it is a people's representative organization,' he said, 'The principles and priorities of the appropriation bill have been presented with the hope that the parliamentarians will come up with suggestions in the pre-budget discussion and play an important role in preparing the next budget. I will take into account the suggestions given by the parliamentarians during the preparation of the budget and will be guided.
Stating that he has gained a lot of experience in budget discipline, Poudel made it clear that he will focus on addressing the aspirations of the people in terms of financial balance and budget discipline. He said that if the financial balance and budget discipline cannot be returned, the aspirations of the people will not be met and it will not be possible to take steps towards prosperity.
Poudel also said that practical and objective budget creation and implementation will be ensured. He said that the country and common citizens will get benefits from the implementation of the budget.
Stating that the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill emphasize the need to change the pattern, pace and culture of development, he said that the principles and priorities are consistent with the policy and program and the principles and priorities have come following the policy program. He said that principles and priorities emphasize balanced and equitable development, employment, self-employment and poverty alleviation are important.
