National Assembly member Vamdev Gautam has said that the Nepali Congress and Communist parties, the main forces that brought the current system together, should declare the country socialism immediately.
Participating in the discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill in the meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that even though the constitution that was created and implemented ten years ago will lead the country to socialism, the parties have not done anything.
He said that the people were disappointed because the party and the government could not work in such a way as to assimilate the spirit and meaning of the constitution. While going to any public place in Nepal, the people are against the leaders and the system, he said, adding that anti-system forces are gaining momentum in the society.
He said that if the parties are not able to address the public grievances in time, they should be careful because another arrangement may come. He claimed that the country is on the verge of a big accident and no one can stop it according to the principle of change.
He said, "I feel very bad when I am participating in policies and programs and principles and priorities." For the people of Nepal, for the nation of Nepal, we all feel that we are on the brink of an accident. I don't know how long we will discuss like this, but if what is supposed to happen, another thing will happen, this is the principle. No one can stop it. Even if we try to stop it, if that situation occurs, it will lead to an accident and the people and the nation will have to bear a huge loss.'
He said that in the constitution of Nepal, to introduce the state of Nepal, it is said to build a socialist-oriented state and even though that socialism-oriented thing is hanging in the mouths of all the leaders, socialism has not been created . Stating that there is a discussion against the system in the village, on the road or in a tea shop, he mentioned that this issue is gaining momentum and that momentum may explode one day.
He said, 'There is a chance for some time, the Nepali Congress and Communists are the ones who will bring this system, they should unite and declare socialism as mentioned in the constitution. That work should be started without delay.'
Gautam, a member of the National Assembly, complained that even though he had spent four years preparing a blueprint for socialism, no leader had studied it.
