175 foreign guests are going to participate in the first edition of the Sagarmatha Dialogue, which will be held in Kathmandu from May 2 for three days. Since the government has invited various heads of state and heads of government to the Everest dialogue, only the ministerial level will be represented.

According to Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, there will be 350 people, both domestic and foreign, in the Everest Dialogue. The Ministry has informed that relevant ministers and high representatives from 12 different countries will participate in the dialogue. In the

dialogue, National People's Congress Standing Committee Vice President Xiao Jie from China and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav from India will lead the delegation. President of COP-29 and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev will also participate in the dialogue. 

Parliamentary Deputy Foreign Minister Akiko Akiko from Japan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Jaime Tshiring from Bhutan, Tourism and Environment Minister Thorik Ibrahim from Maldives and Baroness Susan Heyman, Deputy Foreign Minister from the UK will also come for dialogue. 

Ambassador from Qatar and Special Envoy and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change, Badr Omar Al Dafa, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs from the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah Balala, will participate in the dialogue, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

One minister each from Pakistan and Bahrain and advisers from the Ministry of Social Welfare and Women and Children from Bangladesh will participate in the dialogue. Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Brazil and Egypt will also be represented. "Representatives of 61 organizations including SAARC, BIMSTEC, Loss and Damage Fund, development partners will also participate in the dialogue," Foreign Minister Rana said. 

The first edition of the Everest Dialogue focuses on the concept of 'Climate Change, Mountains and the Future of Humanity'. According to this concept, representatives of various countries will participate in the dialogue, Foreign Minister Rana informed. This dialogue is a global platform. "It is an important platform for everyone," she said, "here, the aim is to communicate about the various problems of the human world and reach a conclusion for the solution." 

According to Minister Rana, there will also be sideline meetings during the Everest Dialogue. Arrangements have also been made for foreign guests to meet with the Prime Minister and their counterpart ministers. I believe that Nepal can play the role of diplomatic leadership through dialogue," she said.  In the first edition of the

Everest dialogue, 5 concept sessions will be held, namely 'Beyond the mountain: connecting the mountain to the ocean', 'Green economy', 'Climate justice and the future of humanity', 'Measures to avoid, reduce and address damage' and 'Global and regional partnerships'. On the last day of the

program, the 'Sagarmatha dialogue will be announced'. Before the announcement, it is planned to give the invited guests an aerial flight to see Mount Everest. The government had prepared the Everest dialogue project in 2076. But due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it was postponed at the last moment. At that time, KP Sharma Oli was the prime minister.
