A bridge has been broken at Chormara between Kawasoti Dumkibas section under the East-West Mahendra Highway. After the bridge was broken, the stranded vehicles were made to cross through an alternative road. Keeping in view the risk, traffic has been stopped on the broken bridge.

According to District Police Superintendent Yadav Dhakal, the vehicle has been driven across from Chormara market. From Chormara Bazar to the south near Navjagaran campus, vehicles have been diverted through an alternative road going east-west. He informed that small and passenger vehicles are being operated on priority.

The dilapidated iron bridge built in the year 2031 collapsed at around 10 o'clock on Monday night and traffic was stopped there. The highway was blocked due to the collapse of the steel bridge 42 km west of Narayangadh.

4 months after the iron bridge of Dumkibas in East Nawalparasi under the Mahendra Rajmarg was broken, Chormara bridge of the same nature was broken .
