The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a corruption case against Baliram Prasad alias Subba Baliram Prasad Kurmi, the then Naib of the District Post Office, Bara, with a demand of more than 5.5 million rupees.
5 crore 35 lakh 64 A corruption case has been filed in the special court with a sum of 279 rupees 33 paisa.
A case has been filed against a worker working in the post office since 2060 for abusing his position and acquiring illegal wealth, said Rajendra Kumar Paudel, the spokesperson of the authority. Kurmi took charge of Post Office Savings Bank when he was working as Nasu in Post Office Bara.
In that sequence, Baliram Prasad embezzled the amount to be saved by the savers in collusion with the office heads at the time without entering the daily cash register of the savers in the passbook and ledger book of the office, without making an entry, without filing the bank, without informing the central office, without following the procedures and responsibilities as directed by the Postal Savings Bank Regulations, Postal Service Procedures Manual, Postal Savings Bank Operation Manual.
Similarly, the authority has filed a corruption case against the then office heads of District Post Office, Bara, Jailal Prasad Sah Kanu, Adalat Prasad Kurmi, Bunni Prasad Yadav, Surendra Prasad Yadav and Sujit Kumar Sah. It is mentioned in the allegation that the defendants shared the money of the savers in the postal bank together with Baliram Prasad.
