Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has commented that the current government has become powerless like a stray cat. He said that although Congress and UML are the first and second parties under the cover of the government, many other interest centers are active behind the scenes of running the government.

Addressing a public meeting organized by the Maoist Center at Fidim in Panchthar on Saturday, he said that the government has failed to act in favor of the country and the people. He claimed that the life of the government is about to end.

"The government under my leadership had started many good works for the country and the people, there were also policy initiatives for corruption and good governance, it was not acceptable to brokers, middlemen and capitalists, this government formed by self-interest centers has become like a cat that is tired, it will fall by itself, we don't need to keep falling," he said.

Recalling that the people trusted and gave the majority to the Maoists in 2064, he admitted that the party under his leadership had lost the trust of the people due to the deliberate mistakes made during the period of history. "Perhaps public opinion could not be appreciated, that's why people started seeing us as Congress-UML. We became a crutch in turns to make Congress-UML the first party. They always tried to help us. Now we have the strong support of the people of the Himalayas and Terai. In 2084, we will be established as the first party without anyone's crutch," he claimed.

Dahal's comment was that the current government's incompetence is also starting to be established as a cornerstone for strengthening Maopadi's organization. In a speech that lasted for about half an hour, Dahal spent a few minutes praising himself, saying that when he was the Prime Minister, proud projects like Tamor Corridor, North South Lokmarg and Bright Nepal were started and progressed.

Maoist recently conducted Terai/Madhes and Madhyapahari Lokmarg Sankalp Yatra and party organization strengthening issues and asked the leaders and workers to unite and prepare for the 2084 elections. He also insisted that the government should be committed to resolve the dispute regarding the cable car construction in Pathibhara through negotiations and that the Maoists should be defeated to rename the Koshi province based on identity.
