Deputy Chairman of the National Independent Party Dr. Swarnim Wagle drew the attention of the government saying that the South Asian dream of peace and prosperity is in coma.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Friday, he drew the attention of the government. He recalled that it has been 10 years since the 18th SAARC summit held in Kathmandu and mentioned that he had the opportunity to make a proposal at that time.

He said that the South Asian dream of deep interconnectedness, which is necessary for peace and prosperity, is now in a coma, and a decision should be made whether to keep it in a coma, let it die or revive it.

He recalled that Sardar Yadunath Khanal, who was born in Tanahun, succeeded in removing 18 Indian military checkposts on the Nepal-China border from negotiations and said that such cannot be expected from the current government. Although he did not expect the white paper to come, he expressed his desire to demand it.

He said, 'The last 18th SAARC Summit was held in Kathmandu. It has been more than 10 years. At that time I had the good fortune to propose the theme. That South Asian dream of deep interconnectedness for peace and prosperity is in a coma today. Whether to keep it in a coma, to let it die, to wake it up—we have to decide about it. '

He commented that it is impossible to hope and expect good things from the current government and leadership.
