Congress General Minister Bishwaprakash Sharma has said that it is necessary for the government, the parties in the government, the main opposition, other opposition parties, and the Nepali media to stand together regarding the impact of India-Pakistan war on Nepal.
He drew the attention of the Prime Minister and all party chairpersons and presidents and said that there should be a serious national discussion about where and how the effects of the ongoing India-Pakistan war can be felt in Nepal.
Publicizing his views on the India-Pakistan war in 5 points, he said that they should be cautious about the impact of the developments on the Nepalis who are studying, working and doing business in India and Pakistan, by establishing an ``information and contact network'' for the risk areas, he said that the government should build a ``rescue desk'' in Kathmandu, Delhi and Islamabad and provide necessary facilitation to those who want to return home from the risk areas.
General Minister Sharma has said that since the Prime Minister should immediately convene an all-party discussion on the India-Pakistan war and issue a common national opinion, even the opposition parties should stand with the government with thematic sensitivity and vision.
He put forward the idea that Nepal, as the SAARC chairman, should show action for the control of terrorism and the early end of the war, and that the federal, state and local governments should prepare for the multifaceted effects that may occur in Nepal if the India-Pakistan war is prolonged.
